Meet Fred Stern

Fred Stern is president of Sunwest Communications.
Prior to joining Sunwest, Fred served as the senior communications executive with two Fortune 500 companies. His responsibilities included media relations, community and charitable affairs, internal communications and financial communications, as well as serving on the senior management committees of each company.
Fred served as senior vice president - corporate communications for Associates First Capital Corporation, where he was responsible for the international financial services company's public relations and public affairs programs from 1983 to 1998, including guiding strategies related to the company’s sale to Ford Motor Company and subsequent IPO and spin-off.
He also served as vice president, corporate communications and public affairs for Wyndham International, Inc. from 1999-2001, helping assist in the transformation of Wyndham from a real estate holding company into a branded hotel company with operations in North America, the Caribbean and Europe.
Earlier in his career, Fred was a senior aide to Governor Pete du Pont of Delaware. During the 1988 U.S. presidential primary campaign, he served as the national press secretary for Gov. du Pont's candidacy.
He’s served as a director of Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Inc., Dallas Museum of National History Association, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, the North Texas Commission and Greenhill School. Fred is a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas and The Dallas Assembly.
