Meet Andy Stern

Andy Stern is chairman and chief executive officer of Sunwest Communications.
Prior to forming Sunwest in 1982, Andy was senior vice president for Associates First Capital Corporation, the international financial services corporation. From 1977 until 1980, he was director of public relations and advertising for Wylain, Inc., a Dallas manufacturer.
In 1975, he was appointed Staff Assistant to President Gerald R. Ford at the White House and served in that position through the end of President Ford's term in 1977. He has also directed communications activities for one of the nation's largest medical centers and served as press secretary for the mayor of a major U.S. city.
Andy is active in community and political affairs having served as a member of the City of Dallas Planning and Zoning Commission and as Chairman of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. In 1988-89, he was Co-Chairman of the blockbuster Ramses the Great exhibit in Dallas.
He currently serves on the board of AMN Healthcare Services (NYSE: AHS), DNB Bancshares, Dallas National Bank, the EDS Byron Nelson Championship and the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza and chairs the board at Medical City Dallas Hospital.
On a professional level, he has lectured on public relations and marketing at the University of Texas at Dallas, Texas A&M University, Southern Methodist University, University of Texas at Austin and the University of Delaware
